Engage 1,000 by end of 2030

5 million dollars towards the greening of United Church faith buildings

Since 2018, our program has funded 280 projects, supporting almost 18% of The United Church of Canada building portfolio to retrofit their building to become more energy-efficiency and transition to renewable energy.

Goal 1: Engage 550 United Church communities of faith by end of 2024; 1,000 by end of 2030

"After an emergency board meeting, I reached out to Faithful Footprints, and our ladies group began fundraising to meet the needs of the project. Our congregation was walking strictly on faith because we did not have the funds for this project. We will have a large increase in electricity costs because we are using infrared heaters to keep

Goal 2: Engage 550 United Church communities of faith by end of 2024; 1,000 by end of 2030

We have helped retrofit 12% of the United Church congregational properties

"After an emergency board meeting, I reached out to Faithful Footprints, and our ladies group began fundraising to meet the needs of the project. Our congregation was walking strictly on faith because we did not have the funds for this project. We will have a large increase in electricity costs because we are using infrared heaters to keep the church warm. It was a dire situation, and we did not see a way we would be able to achieve what seemed insurmountable odds to ever upgrade our church and free ourselves from dependency on oil as our primary and only heat source.

Mapping Faithful Footprints across the country

The United Church of Canada’s Faithful Footprints Grants and Energy Data maps are online interactive maps that are designed to share insight into the energy efficiency and decarbonization efforts of congregations and other properties through the Faithful Footprints program. These maps are produced in collaboration with EDGE.
